Annual the police department partners with the DEA to offer a drug take-back drop-off site, for anyone that would like to dispose of any unused prescribed medication. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The police department has crime prevention trained officers that can offer many services to both citizens and business within the city. The crime prevention officers are certified in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) to better prevent and deter criminal activity at a location.
