Poquoson Commemorative License Plate
The City of Poquoson is now accepting deposits for the creation of a special commemorative license plate featuring a deadrise work boat paying tribute to part of Poquoson’s heritage. In order for the plate to go into production a minimum of 350 plates must be reserved in advance. The plate has an annual fee of $10 per year, in addition to the normal DMV fee. Should you prefer a personalized plate the annual fee will be $20 per year (6 character max.) in addition to normal DMV fees.
The City will hold in trust your $10 fee until such time as the required 350 deposits are collected. Your money and application will then be sent to DMV for processing and production. We will provide periodic updates in the Poquoson Post on our progress towards the required 350 deposits. Unfortunately, neither the City nor DMV can provide you with an expected delivery date until we reach the required deposits. Once your plate is produced, DMV will mail it to you with your current expiration stickers. The design is subject to change if needed due to DMV regulations.
