Adult Classes –Exercise & Fitness

Yoga

This class explores basic hatha yoga  poses, incorporating movement, yoga breathing exercises and sitting meditation. It is designed both for students who are new to yoga and those with previous experience. Decrease stress, enhance flexibility, and increase stamina. Exercise/yoga mat needed for classes. Participants should wear comfortable, loose clothing. All fitness levels welcome. Bring a yoga mat to class. Minimum 8; Maximum 10. 

For ages 16 and over       

Location: Municipal Building unless noted.

 Times: 6:00-7:00pm Choose the day you would like to join, or choose both nights of the week.

Session 1:  4 weeks  May 25– June 22 Tuesdays

Session 2:   4 weeks May 27-June 24 Thursdays

Cost: $48 Program (4 week sessions)

Session 3:  August 24– September 28 Tuesdays

Session 4:  August 26-September 30 Thursdays

Cost: $60 (6 Week Sessions)

You must pre-register 4 days in advance.

PPR reserves the right to combine sessions due to low enrollment if necessary.

Line Dancing

Line Dancing– No partner needed! Plenty of exercise guaranteed. Learn the basics to many dances and you’ll be a pro. Move to the grooves and learn a new dance each week. Combination of music styles will be used.

For Ages  13 to Adult    Time:  2 convenient options

Session 1:  June 3– August 19

7-8pm Thursdays evenings  at Poquoson Primary Gym

Session 2: Daytime Class June 22– August 11

9:30-10:30am at Community Center– Odd Road

Class runs for 10 sessions.

Cost: $48.00  Program #114

Abs & Arms Workout Session

Utilizing  a resistance band and small  hand weights (2-5 pounds) work to gain toned and sculpted arms. Class will also use a 55cm.  exercise ball (you bring) to build core strength and balance from the center of your body. Lots of isolated exercises and toning

 muscle core. You provide ball and weights.

Class meets Monday and Wednesday evenings

Time:  6:30-7:15pm  For Ages 15 to Adult

Cost per 6 week session is $40.

Location: Municipal Building

Session 1:  June 7 thru July 21. No class week of July 5.  Program # 143  Class minimum of 8.

Session 2:  August 2– September 15– Will focus on legs and lower body (hips and gluts) Program #144

Circuit Training Class

Increase your cardiovascular intensity and overall strength and tone with this fun class.

Dress for exercise, and bring light exercise mat.

Program designed for group skill levels.

Step Aerobics

Use an elevated platform if you choose and work out to the beat to raise your heart rate, and strengthen your overall cardio-health. Burn calories and improve overall tone. Lots of movement. Class meets Monday and Wednesday

 evenings 7:30-8:30pm

For Ages 15 to Adult

Cost per 6 week session is $48.

Location: Municipal Building

Session 1: June 7 thru July 21. No class week of July 5. Program #142A

Session 2: August 2– September 15. No class September 6 & 8. Program #142B
