Poquoson Municipal Pool is open Memorial Day thru Labor Day. The Pool is a 6 lane 25m pool complete with 10 feet diving end and small baby pool. The Pool is 200,000 gallon pool and operated by the City of Poquoson. The pool is located at 16 Municipal Drive, Poquoson. |

The pool is open to both residents and non-residents. Season passes are available for purchase. First Day of the Season is May 31, Memorial Day. |

The Barracuda Swim Team, a program of Poquoson Parks and Recreation offers competitive swimming for youth thru age 18. All swimmers must have a minimum swim ability to qualify for the team. Registration for the swim team is in April and May each year. Our team swims with other pool in the GPSA swim league around the peninsula. Practice begins June 1, 2010. Registration is now open. Poquoson Pool offers American Red Cross Training for lifeguards and WSI instructors. Both trainings are scheduled on an instructor availability basis. American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course Participants must be at least 15 years of age by the start of the first class. Students must pass a swimming skills and endurance test (will be given at first class meeting). If this test is not passed a refund will be given. Must attend all class sessions. Absences will result in removal from class and no refund. Cost of certification class: $210 Residents, $220 Non-Residents (includes textbooks) Program #192 Through classroom learning & hands-on practice, you'll learn: surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries. Rescue skills - in the water and on land First aid training & professional rescuer CPR with AED to help you prepare for any emergency. Dates: June 28-July 1 9am-5pm. Register by June 21, 2010. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Class The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course provides instructor candidates the training needed to teach courses in the ARC Swimming and Water Safety Program. Develop the understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions, and how to evaluate participants’ progress for swimming instruction. Interested candidates must be at least 16 years of age by the start of class. Basic Swimming skills are required, proficiency in all four primary swimming strokes required. Cost: $205 Residents $220 Non-Residents. (Includes all required texts) Program #191 Times Each Day: 2:15-7pm Class Dates: May 25, May 27, June 1, June 3, & June 8 if needed. Class Location: Poquoson Municipal Building and Poquoson Pool. Bring a swimsuit for each class. Deadline to register is May 22. Must have 6 for class to go. Class Max is 12.

This youth swim team offers competitive Swimming for city youth from October thru March annually. The team is a member of the Virginia Community Swim League and is a wonderful recreational swimming experience for swimmers to gain confidence and technique. . |

Available Friday or Saturday Evenings Cost for Pool Rental is $175 per event. Covers lifeguards for the first 50 in attendance for 2 hours 8-10pm. Additional $50 for every additional 25 persons over the first 50 in attendance. Reservations are only available for Friday and Saturday evenings. All reservations are taken by the Poquoson Parks and Recreation Office. No call in reservations are accepted. Payment expected at time of reservation and contract must be completed.
