Public Hearings
CITY OF POQUOSON
PUBLIC HEARING
The Planning Commission and the City Council of the City of Poquoson will hold public hearings on Thursday, February 23, 2012 and Monday, February 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., respectively, in the Council Chambers at 500 City Hall Avenue to consider the following:
- An ordinance amending Article XI.II Research and Development District of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Poquoson by eliminating a minimum lot size requirement and removing the minimum gross floor area requirement.
- An ordinance amending Article I. General Provisions, Section 1-08 of the Site Plan Ordinance of the City of Poquoson by adding provisions to allow parking areas to consist of pervious pavement.
- An ordinance amending Article 8-1. Planned Open Space Conservation Overlay District of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Poquoson as follows:
- Establishing a ten (10) foot required side yard setback for all principal structures in Article 8.1-2(e).
4. An ordinance amending Section 3. Permitted Signs and Section 6. General Regulations of the Sign Ordinance of the City of Poquoson as follows:
- Amending Section 3(d) by adding language that would allow the regulations of this sub-section to cover commercial uses in all zoning districts within the City.
- Amending Section 6(d) by modifying language to allow maximum sign height requirements to be regulated by other sections of the sign ordinance.
5. An ordinance amending Article 7.2, Family Subdivisions; Section 5, Access. of the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of Poquoson as follows:
- The allowance of permeable and/or pervious pavements to be used for access driveways and private right-of-ways upon approval of the City Engineer.
6. A request by Wayne Harbin Builder, Inc. to amend proffers adopted by City Council by Ordinance #1228 on August 22, 2005 for a 2.48 acre parcel to be known as Village Park and located at 543 Wythe Creek Road, Poquoson Tax Map Parcel #18-1-108. The purpose of the amendment is to allow for development of a 26 unit townhome project rather than a 27 unit condominium development as originally approved by Council action. Two new proffers pertaining to configuration and buffering of the development will be added and one existing proffer pertaining to material composition of on-site drives, streets and parking areas will be stricken.
7. An ordinance amending the City’s Zoning Ordinance by adding, Article XI.VI, Technology Zone.
