Quick Access
LAFB Exercise
Members of the 633rd Air Base Wing, 1st Fighter Wing and 192 Fighter Wing will be conducting an Operational Readiness Exercise on Langley Air Force Base April 17-20. It is a two phased exercise with the first phase to practice the ability to rapidly deploy, and the second phase testing the ability to conduct combat operations at a simulated forward base.
During the exercise, there will be sirens and utilization of the base Public Address system. Additionally, there may be explosions, as well as smoke, for simulation purposes. There will also be testing of different force protection postures that could alter traffic flow in and out of the base for temporary periods.
