Zumba
Zumba® combines high energy and motivating music with body movements that allow
you to dance away your worries and workout to the fun fitness program that achieves
long lasting feel great health benefits. Join the party for the mind and body. Certified

from Poplar Street Side of building. Ages 15 to Adult. Tuesdays & Thursdays. 12

Bull Island Boot Camp
Are you too busy to fit your workout into your hectic daily routine? Join us at Bull
Island Boot Camp to complete your workout before the day begins! This is an
Early Morning/Early Riser workout! These 1-hour sessions include a well-balanced
combination of cardio and strength training. Transform your body, or take your fitness
to the next level in this exciting indoor/outdoor fitness environment. Experience a
variety of exercises, running, and training to build muscle, endurance and get your
body into shape. ALL FITNESS LEVELS ARE WELCOME!
Please register 5 days prior. Must have a minimum of 8 to make boot camp run.

Line Dancing Classes
Line Dancing– No partner needed! Plenty of exercise guaranteed. Learn both traditional line dances plus some of the more current trends in country line dancing and modern club dances.
Class will include one, two, and four wall dances. Learn the basics to many dances and you’ll be a pro. Move to the grooves and learn a new dance each week. Combination of music styles will be used. Be the Cake Boss
Wilton Cake Decorating Class 1
Discover Cake Decorating with Wilton. Learn border techniques, writing, shells, figure piping and creating the Wilton Rose. Learn how to make great cake icing. Frost, level and torte a cake the Wilton way. Starting the second week of class, participants will need to bring 1 small single layer cake and icing to class as their practice cake. On the first night of class, instructor will get you started with icing and cake prep. Course meets 4 times, 2 hours each meeting August 4, 11, 18, 25 For ages 14 to Adults Deadline to register: Minimum 6. Each participant will be given a supply list at the time of registration. Supplies purchased on your own. Cost: $25 for instruction and includes a free “tool of the trade” for your decorating needs.

Introduction To Print Making
Utilize techniques to begin the basics of printing. Learn how to screen print at a basic level, block print and a technique known as collagraph. Develop your work to make unique designs and one of a kind embellished fabics.

Adult Learn to Sew Basics
Do you have a sewing machine, but it collects dust and you have no clue how to begin your sewing career. Have no fear– A sewing superstar –you’ll be after this special class just for Adult Beginners.
Gain confidence, comfort with your machine and basic skills as you learn proper pattern sizing, techniques and simple stitching to make sewing your hobby not your fear. Instructor will provide guidance for fabric selection, and project guidance as you embark on your first sewing and construction project. Class meets 5 weeks starting August 15. 7-9pm. Please bring your unused sewing machine as we’ll put it thru the paces.
This class will guide you through straight seams, threading the machine, and basic sewing techniques that are part of the project. Location: Municipal Building. Deadline to Register August 8.

Writing Your Memoir
This class will guide students in transforming personal memories into a compelling story. You will use writing prompts, learn how to use fiction techniques in telling your true story, conduct practical exercises, and receive feedback on your work. June 14 and June 28 7:00-8:30pm each evening. Bring a good pen and something for notes and your writings. Minimum of 8. Deadline to Register is June 3.

Writing for Magazines
This class will show aspiring freelancers how to properly query an editor and break in to the magazine market. Included will be such topics as the finding the right market, building your writer’s resume, selling local stories nationally. Practical examples and handouts will be included. Class will meet July 26 from 7:00-8:30.

Getting Published
This class will cover the craft and business of writing for publication from the viewpoints of a writer and an editor. Examples of professional and unprofessional submissions will be included, along with finding an agent, understanding the different types of publishing, and choosing which type is right for you. Bill Glose is a contributing editor with Virginia Living, a stringer for Super Lawyers, and a regular contributor at other magazines.
