The pool is located at 16 Municipal Drive is a 6 lane, 25M pool operated Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool is home to American Red Cross Swimming Lessons, the Barracuda Swim Team, and open swim for public. The Pool Opens for the Summer Season on Memorial Day thru Labor Day each season.
Summer Swim Team- Poquoson Barracudas Registration Information for the
Poquoson Barracuda Swim Team
The Barracuda Swim Team, a program of Poquoson Park and Recreation offers competitive swimming for youth thru age 18. All swimmers must have a minimum swim ability to qualify for the team. Registration for the swim team is in May each year. Our team swims with other pools in the GPSA swim league around the Peninsula. The Barracudas were the 4th place team overall in 2011 at the GPSA swim league championships. This championship hosts over 21 teams from around the Peninsula.
The Barracuda Swim Team begins practice at the Poquoson Pool in the evenings starting on the
Tuesday, following Memorial Day. The season runs thru August 1.
The team hosts meets at the Poquoson Pool as well as travels to other pool within the area.
As a parent of a child on the swim team, it is important to note that it is required that all parents work to support the team. This is primarily done thru volunteer efforts at meets. On average it takes 75 parents to run a home meet successfully. Parents who have children on the team are required to make a service committment is part of membership on the Barracuda Swim Team.

From the beginner too scared to enter the water to the competitive athlete looking to become more efficient in the water; you will have one-on-one private lessons that are catered to exactly what you want and need. Private lessons are a perfect way for a child who needs fewer distractions and more instruction. Private lesson teachers are WSI certified or have in-depth experience in the American Red Cross Swimming curriculum and competitive swimming experience as swimmers and coaches. Adults and Youth Welcome. Cost per lesson is $28 for 35 minutes.
Register for 3 lessons at a time and the package is $75.
Only one person per teacher, per 35 minute session.
You may only sign up for 3 sessions at a time maximum. All lessons must be paid in full before considered confirmed.
Registration for private lessons will begin Starting May 23. Lesson times vary.
