Parks & Recreation: First Players Club

First Players Club Programs are designed using the National Alliance of Youth Sports Curriculum and Programs. These programs are part of the Smart Start Youth Development Process. Each program is designed for a specific audience and developmental stage within a child’s sports career.
Each program emphasizes Eye & Hand Coordination, following directions, physical development and balance for greater success as your child develops specific athletic skills. Young children typically age 4-5 are not always ready for team sports. These programs are skill based and taught in a non-competitive environment.

| The spring session has begun! Please check back in August for a new session of PIXIES!
Field Hockey for beginners! Ages 5-7 Girls. Location: Phillips Park in front of PHS. As a Pixie Stick, you’ll get to play like the big girls as you learn the basics of field hockey. This program is designed to teach the skills of field hockey to young players and get them started on their first hockey experience. Learn proper techniques for stick maneuvers, teamwork, strategy of the game and just have fun. Registration for each new PIXIE player includes a correctly sized stick and ball. All players must play with a mouth guard & shin guards each session. Parent must provide shin guards and mouth guard.
