Poquoson Parks and Recreation offers a Variety of Exercise, Fitness and Wellness Classes.
FENCING! Adults!
Beginners: Ages 10 thru Adult
Learn the basics of fencing from proper stance to basic defensive and offensive moves, scoring points and proper protocols of the sport. Fencing is one of the best sports to teach hand and eye coordination as well as balance and timing. Days/Times: Sundays starting June 17 thru August 26, note no class July 1. Times: 5-6 pm Poquoson Primary School. In order to measure and fit for equipment, the first class will meet 4-6 pm on June 17. Cost: $65. (Paid to PPR)
Equipment Fee: $110 for males/ $130 for females paid to instructor at the first class to cover personal equipment
purchase. The instructor will order each student’s equipment to include proper jacket, foil (fencing sword), mask, and glove. Note: Female protection equipment requires extra chest coverage equipment. Instructor: Vicki Hanes Minimum 4 participants. Must pre-register at Poquoson Parks & Recreation by June 12. No registration taken at the class.

Bull Island Boot Camp
Are you too busy to fit your workout into your hectic daily routine? Join us at Bull Island Boot Camp to complete your workout before the day begins! This is an Early Morning/Early Riser workout! These 1-hour sessions include a well-balanced combination of cardio and strength training. Transform your body, or take your fitness to the next level in this exciting indoor/outdoor fitness environment. Experience a variety of exercises, running, and training to build muscle, endurance and get your body into shape.
ALL FITNESS LEVELS ARE WELCOME!
Please register 5 days prior. Must have a minimum of 8 to make boot camp run.

Personal Training Session
Individualized personal training is available thru Poquoson Parks and Recreation utilizing the services of Sibyl Smith, AFAA certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor.
Our trainer is available to help you discover the safest, quickest and most productive path towards reaching your fitness goals. Choose to train on an individual basis or with a partner. You can develop with the trainer a customized workout tailored specifically to your needs and physical challenges. Personal training sessions give you accountability, motivation, support and experience from the expert to help you reach your fitness goals.
Sessions are available for Early Mornings on Wednesdays, Tuesday afternoon/evenings, and Saturday Mornings. Call 868-3580 at Poquoson Parks and Recreation to arrange times. All sessions must be paid for in advance to be confirmed. Program #131

Get Amped for Fitness! Get in Shape!
When was the last time you challenged yourself??? Join us at AMP Class, an all-inclusive exercise and fitness class!
This 75 minute AMP Class incorporates activities from the R.I.P.P.E.D. tracks, Kickboxing moves and boot camp drills to give you the ultimate full body workout all at once. Bring a set of weights, mat, water and your game face! Meets Tuesday nights from 6:45-8:00 at Poquoson Middle School gymnasium. Minimum of 8.
Sessions are 4 weeks– 4 meeting times.

ZUMBA
Zumba® combines high energy and motivating music with body movements that allow you to dance away your worries and workout to the fun fitness program that achieves long lasting feel great health benefits. Join the party for the mind and body. Certified Zumba Instructor: Aletha Russell Location: Poquoson Middle School Cafeteria. Enter from Poplar Street Side of building. Ages 15 to Adult. Tuesdays & Thursdays. 12 Classes per session. Register 8 days prior to each session.

Aqua-Zumba
Join the Zumba Pool Party! Gain an invigorating workout as you splash, stretch, dance and move to the music with all the classic Zumba moves and cardio-conditioning and body-toning that comes with the pool party.
