The Office of Community Recreation also well known as Poquoson Parks and Recreation (PPR) is excited to provide you with a variety of programs, activities, recreational areas, and facilities as well as summer swimming opportunities.

Information on Facility Rentals and Use:

Odd Road Community Center- Residents Only

Odd Road Community Center: Reservations for Private Users to hold events at the Odd Road Community Center. Please call 868-3580 for more information. Civic and Community Groups may resume meeting at the Odd Road Community Center. Group meetings and reservations may have up to 60 people in attendance.  Please call 868-3580 to complete reservations requests.  Private Use Rental is $150 per day. Payment is due at the time of Reservation and only residents may rent the facility.

PICNIC SHELTERS Reservations for Residents only

Picnic Shelters: Reservations for use of Picnic Shelters for resident use - limit of up to 50 people at any gathering.  The City has three locations that offer Shelter Reservations: Municipal Park, South Lawson Park, and Messick Point.  Shelter Use Reservation Form Here

Drop the kids off for a fun and STEM-U-lating Friday evening to explore and build with LEGO® bricks. Parents, feel free to relax, go on a date, and enjoy some “me time”.
Pizza will be provided for the kids.This is for children ages 5-12. Cost: $30 residents/                 $40 non-residents. Times: 6-9pm Location: Municipal Building. Instructor: Chymain Brown

HOOP IT UP- Parent Child Basketball

Ages 5 -7

The program is rooted in the fast start players programs to teach basic basketball skills for kids just starting out with assistance from their parents. The program will meet 5 weeks each Tuesday evening. Each participant will receive a ball and a shirt.

The program will teach interactive skills and games to learn the game of basketball

5 Tuesdays January 9,16,23,30 & February 6, 2024.

5:30pm to 6:30pm Director Joe & Darcey Chiappazzi.

Cost $80. resident $90. non-resident.

Cost includes basketball and reversible jersey for each player.

Snow Man- Sugar Cookie Class

Ages 8-15

Wednesday January 10

Time:2pm -5pm.

 Location: Municipal Building

Cost: $35.00 per student residents/ $45.00 non-residents

Learn to make sugar cookies and rolls them from cutting to baking and decorating. We will use a snowman theme and create some great iced cookies. Each student should bring 2 large airtight containers to take home their decorated cookies. Bring an apron/hand towel. Please tie back long hair and please note any food allergies upon registration.

 Baseball Hitters Clinic

Dates Sunday, February 4 and February 11

2:00pm - 3:30pm Grades 6-8 each day

4:00pm-5:30pm Grades 9-12 each day

Cost: $40 per Sunday Session $40.00 Resident/$50.00 non-resident

(Sign up for both Sundays cost is $70, $90 for non-residents) discount will show at the time of check out when registering for 2 dates.

At Poquoson High School Gym, Limited to 30 Kids per time session.

Work on getting ready for the upcoming baseball season in this clinic to build fundamentals and good habits.

Cost- $40.00 Resident $50.00 Non-resident.

Each Time Period is Limited to 20 Participants Choose time to correspond to grade. 

 SPRING 2024 Youth Soccer League 

Registration Now open for the Spring 2024 Youth Soccer Season

Cost to Play is $80.00. Additional $10.00 for non-resident.

Deadline for Registration: Feb. 23, 2024

The League will be divided as Follows:

Division Ages End Date

U7 ages 5 and 6 not yet 7 by 5/31/24

U9 ages 7 and 8 not yet 9 by 5/31/24

U11 ages 9 and 10 not yet 11 by 5/31/24

U13 ages 11 and 12 not yet 13 by 5/31/24

U16 ages 13,14,15 not yet 16 by 5/31/24

Youngest player must be at least in kindergarten currently in 2024.

VOLUNTEER Coaches Needed.

Coaches set practice schedule.

Games usually on Saturdays and 1 night a week.

Approx 8-9 games per season.

Practice location: South Lawson Park 1238 Poquoson Avenue.

$15.00 late fee applies to any registration taken after Deadline.


Season runs Mid March to Late May 2024.
