City Hall reopening to Public Monday, June 15

City Hall will reopen to the public on Monday, June 15.
• This will include limited library services inside the building in addition to the curbside and home delivered library services that are currently being offered. We will also be increasing the hours the library is open and reintroducing Sunday hours. For more information citizens should check the Library webpage or give the Library a call at 757-868-3060.
• It will not include DMV Select, initially.
We will also be opening the Public Works Administration Building and the first floor of the Municipal Building on June 15.
Citizens entering our public buildings during the COVID-19 public health emergency will be strongly encouraged to wear a facial covering. To assist those citizens who do not have or may have forgotten their facial coverings, disposable masks, as well as hand sanitizer and public health information will be available in the atrium at City Hall and in the entrance areas at the Municipal Building and Public Works Administration Building.
City employees will be required to wear facial coverings when providing face to face customer service inside any municipally owned building.
Also beginning on June 15 open public meetings will resume in the City Council Chamber, subject to the current maximum gathering restriction and in accordance with social distancing recommendation and requirements.
Parks and Recreation staff has put the wheels in motion to begin offering limited recreational programs later this month as well as the opening of municipal pool. I would remind everyone that the Governor’s Phase Two guidelines for pools significantly limit the numbers of patrons and type of activities that can be enjoyed at the pool during Phase Two. For more information citizens can check the Parks and Recreation webpage or give Parks and Recreation a call at 757-868-3580.
