The links below contain the updated shellfish closures cond054-021 "Back River" and cond054-215 "Harris River, Long and Grunland Creeks." Both are found in either the City of Hampton and / or the City of Poquoson and both are scheduled to go into effect on 15 January 2026.

The conditional management plan originally written in 2024 has been reviewed and continues to support a rainfall-based closure in the Back River and its tributaries in Growing Area # 054. The Conditionally Approved areas will be labeled in these shellfish closure documents as Sections C21, C22, C28, C29, and C31. The conditionally approved rainfall classified areas will be in closed status for 10 days following a rain event greater than 1.0 inch in a 24 hour period from 8pm to 8pm.
