The Office of Community Recreation also well known as Poquoson Parks and Recreation (PPR) is excited to provide you with a variety of programs, activities, recreational areas, and facilities as well as summer swimming opportunities.

Information on Facility Rentals and Use:

Odd Road Community Center- Residents Only

Odd Road Community Center: Reservations for Private Users to hold events at the Odd Road Community Center. Please call 868-3580 for more information. Civic and Community Groups may resume meeting at the Odd Road Community Center. Group meetings and reservations may have up to 60 people in attendance.  Please call 868-3580 to complete reservations requests.  Private Use Rental is $150 per day. Payment is due at the time of Reservation and only residents may rent the facility. Please note that the Community Center will be having some renovations during Feb and March 2026. Dates may not be available for use. Check availability at 757-868-3580.

PICNIC SHELTERS Reservations for Residents only

Picnic Shelters: Reservations for use of Picnic Shelters for resident use - limit of up to 50 people at any gathering.  The City has 4 locations that offer Shelter Reservations: Municipal Park, South Lawson Park, Two Tree Park, and Messick Point.  Shelter Use Reservation Form Here

Registration is now open for the Spring 2026 Youth Soccer

 League. This league is a co-ed League.  A majority of the games and practices are held at South Lawson Park at 1238 Poquoson Ave.

DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 13, 2026
The League Will be have teams in the following divisions:
The League will be divided as Follows:
Division Ages End Date
U7 ages 5 and 6 not yet 7 by 5/31/26 
U9 ages 7 and 8 not yet 9 by 5/31/26
U11 ages 9 and 10 not yet 11 by 5/31/26
U13 ages 11 and 12 not yet 13 by 5/31/26
U16 ages 13,14,15 not yet 15 by 5/31/26


Youngest players ages 5 and 6 must be at least in Kindergarten now.
VOLUNTEER Coaches Needed for all age groups.


Coaches set practice schedule for teams. Parents cannot request certain nights of practices.
Games usually on Saturdays and 1 night a week.
No games during Spring Break.
Anticipated Start of season is Mid-March, Approx. week of March 15 with practices.
Schedule will conclude by Memorial Day in May.
Approx 8-9 games per season weather pending.
Practice location: South Lawson Park 1238 Poquoson Avenue.
Cost per player: $90 residents; 100.00 non-resident.
$15.00 late fee applies to any registration taken after Deadline.

Spring Kickstart

Kickstart is a program designed for the beginner soccer player. This is the basic introduction to the game of soccer. It is not a soccer league, but a 5-week instruction & play/skill period for 45 minutes each week.
Cost: $70 per child. No sibling discount; additional $10 for non-residents. $80
Registration is on a first come, first served basis. South Lawson Parks 5:30pm to 6:15pm. Dates are April 14, 16 April 21, 23, 28 and 30. Ages 4-6. Class meets 6 times.

Senior Center

Do you have a senior adult who would enjoy lunch, fellowship and activities. Do they need a ride. Our Senior Center Program meets Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Contact PAA to register and arrange a ride at 757-873-0541.
