Parks Maintenance is responsible for maintaining 39 acres of City owned facilities, to include six (6) parks, the Messick Point Boat Ramp, and 11 athletic fields including the Turf Field at 985 Poquoson Ave, City owned tennis/pickleball courts, and the S. Lawson basketball court. 

Maintenance of these facilities include repair of playground equipment, mowing and treating of lawn and turf grass, trash and litter removal, set up for the athletic fields that host hundreds of games per year. Each of those games could require one or all of the following- painting/lining of the field, resizing, and/or reconfiguring from one sport to another or age group.
