Convenience Site is No Longer in Effect

New Bulk Debris Services Starting Effective 7/1/25

Effective 7/1/25, the City of Poquoson Public Works Department will offer a new program to provide residents who pay for City Solid Waste Services with bulk debris and landscape disposal services twice a month, one pickup at their home and one trip to the York County Transfer Station. Unlimited landscape disposal at the VPPSA Compost Facility will also be available at no charge. With this new program, the Convenience Site behind City Hall will no longer be in service.

Pickup days will be scheduled each month by precinct as follows: 
1st Tuesday: Western
2nd Tuesday: Central
3rd Tuesday: Eastern

Unacceptable Items

Items that will not be taken include:

  • Batteries
  • Black garbage bags
  • Bricks
  • Concrete
  • Construction debris from contracted work (Contractor generated debris including landscape & bulk)
  • Household chemicals
  • Oil drums
  • Oil tanks
  • Paint
  • Pesticides
  • Propane tanks
  • Shingles
  • Tires
